good youtube clip for late 80s/early 90s tv junkies

Postby Stroker Ace » Mon Nov 09, 2009 11:09 pm

Some dude who was a contestant on Remote Control posted the episode he was on
with little pop up fun facts. I'm bored, so it was fun to watch an episode of Remote Control
for the first time in probably 15+ years. I used to love that show.

Dave Walker was a contestant on Remote Control back in the day. He has a pretty good story about it... he claims that he got ripped off and should have won.

I don't think I ever saw it. That was Colin Quinn's show, right?

You really didn't miss much. I think Kari Wührer got her start there too.

That show was pretty fun. I love the barely-above-public-access production values of old basic cable shows like this, MST3K, and Mysteries From Beyond the Other Dominion. The cds by such luminaries as Whitney Houston and Milli Vanilli given away as a prize is beyond awesome. I'll take the Turtle Wax, thank you very much.

Yup, that show was the starting pad for Kari Wuhrer as well as Adam Sandler.
Colin Quine was pretty funny on it, or at least I thought he was back then.

I liked him on SNL quite a bit. I think you're feeling the same thing I am about him, though, and it's colored by his appearances on Stern. That seems to be where careers go to die.

Speaking of - how about that new Foreigner stuff!

He was okay, but when he took over the news he suffered from "Not-Norm-MacDonald" syndrome. I think Norm's one of the funniest people alive.

I know... why do they even bother? Just bring on a walk packer or bullshit through the news for longer.
It's stupid, but man, Artie's "laughing guy" is cracking me up. I loved his prime time line up suggestion
"Look Who's Talking!" followed by "The Shaggy DA" and then into Jay Leno.

Did you hear how the guy who laughs at antything got started? John Hinde came in while JD was in the studio and told everyone that JD thought that Look Who's Talking was a funny movie. At first, it was just Artie explaining what was so funny about Look Who's Talking.

So awesome. That is killing me.

Totally. I don't know why they bother with "serious" guests for the most part. I mean, I love
when they have Tracy Morgan or someone like that, but Foreigner and the crummy reality show
people I could really do without. Luckily I can ff through that bullshit.
